Meikles Limited is a leading retail and hotel group in Zimbabwe. The company, which began in 1892, is prominently engaged in the hotel, retail, supermarket chain, agriculture, and security services industries. It wholly owns the premier 5-star Meikles Hotel in Harare, jointly operates Victoria Falls Hotel with African Sun, and has major holding in Cape Grace Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa. Other businesses of the group include the supermarket chain TM Supermarkets; Greatermans Stores, which offers department stores-style retail under the brand names Barbours and The M Store; Tanganda Tea Company, which is the biggest distributor of bulk and packaged tea, and also producer of the bottled spring water Tinga Mira; and Meikles Guard Services, which offers security guard services across the country. Through its diversified operating portfolio, Meikles is aiming to become “the leading hospitality and retail group” in Zimbabwe.
