It was put in place by the Government of Osun State to offer banking products, mortgage facilities, fund management, and treasury services. The bank was incorporated on March 9, 1993 and commenced operations on April 1, 1999. In 2014, OMB Plc listed its shares on the Alternative Securities Market (ASeM) of The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE); emerging the first company to do so. Current major shareholding blocks are held by the Osun State Government, 31 Local Governments in Osun State and 2 major Institutional Investors.
