Fidelity Bank Plc, incorporated in 1987 as a private limited company with a Merchant Banking License, is a Nigerian commercial bank licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) with international authorization. As part of its growth strategy, the bank converted to a commercial bank in 1999, became public limited company in August 1999 and secured a Universal Banking License in February 2001. In line with the CBN’s modified universal banking regime, Fidelity Bank was granted an International Banking Licence in 2011.
In 2005, Fidelity Bank became one of the top 10 banks in Nigeria subsequent to its acquisition of FSB International Bank and Manny Bank. The bank currently has an extensive branch network with presence across all the major cities in Nigeria and in all the state capitals comprising 250 business offices, 833 automated teller machines, and 10,951 point of sale terminals.
Fidelity Bank listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) in May 2005 and currently has over 400,000 diverse shareholders consisting of Nigerian citizens and corporations as well as foreign investors. The company's stock has consistently paid dividends annually since it began trading on the NSE. In May 2013 and October 2017, Fidelity Bank respectively issued a 5-year $300million Eurobond and a $400million Eurobond, which were both listed on the Irish Stock Exchange, the former of which was fully redeemed in May 2018.
