As part of its growth strategy, the bank converted to a commercial bank in 1999, became public limited company in August 1999 and secured a Universal Banking License in February 2001. Fidelity Bank became one of the top 10 banks in Nigeria subsequent to its acquisition of FSB International Bank and Manny Bank in 2005.
