The investment holding company was incorporated in March 2016 as a Category 1 Global Business Licence company. FMBCH's primary objective is to evolve into a strategic investment holding company that provides shared services in the areas of treasury management, administration, risk management and strategy, and financial management.
FMB Capital Holdings intends to seek a dual listing in Mauritius, since this will allow fungibility with shares in FMBCH being transferable between the registers in Malawi and Mauritius. FMBCH's subsidiaries include First Capital Bank which operates in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, and Malawi; as well as Capital Bank SA (Mozambique).
