The group subsidiaries, Queenspark (Pty) Ltd. and Queenspark (Pty) Ltd. (registered in Namibia), continued their retail activities with regard to the sale of ladies’ and men’s clothing, shoes, costume jewellery, related fashion accessories and cosmetics through branded Queenspark outlets located in South Africa and Namibia as well as through a Queenspark-branded franchised outlet in Kenya. A decision has been made not to continue with the Kenyan franchise beyond the expiration of the franchise agreement, which is due to expire in the 2020 financial year.

The group's property portfolio consists of developed and undeveloped properties, held directly and indirectly through a subsidiary, Queenspark Distribution Centre (Pty) Ltd. Rex Trueform Office Park situated in Salt River is the main operating property within the segment followed by the property in Wynberg, which is utilised by the retail segment as a distribution centre. Two properties are undeveloped, a vacant factory and vacant land situated in Salt River. The vacant factory has heritage significance which limits any potential development. The board is actively looking for development opportunities which will yield a satisfactory return in relation to any capital outlay.
