Kibo Energy PLC is a multi-asset energy company engaged in the business of the development and operation of thermal coal power projects in Botswana, Mozambique, and Tanzania. The company's shares are listed on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange and the AltX of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Incorporated and headquartered in Galway, Ireland, Kibo Energy is positioned to address the acute power deficit, which is one of the primary impediments to economic development in Sub-Saharan Africa. To this end, it is the Company’s objective to become a leading independent power producer in the region.

Kibo is developing two thermal power projects, the Mabesekwa Coal Independent Power Project in Botswana and the Benga Independent Power Project in Mozambique, as well as developing the market for the advanced Mbeya Coal to Power Project in Tanzania. Additionally, Kibo holds a 60% interest in MAST Energy Developments Limited, a private UK registered company targeting the development and operation of flexible power plants to service the Reserve Power generation market. Kibo benefits from its international partnership network which includes SEPCO-III, General Electric, Tractebel Engineering, Minxcon Consulting, ABSA Group, and Hogan Lovells.
