Ecobank Ghana Limited, a member of the pan-African Ecobank chain, is a commercial bank in Ghana engaged in merchant, investment, and retail banking. The bank commenced business on February 19, 1990 and subsequently became the first bank in Ghana to receive a universal banking license from the Bank of Ghana when such scheme was introduced in 2003. With a network of 77 branches and 211 ATM machines across the country, Ecobank Ghana is currently the biggest bank in Ghana.
Ecobank Ghana has made very good returns to its shareholders with Return On Average Equity (ROAE) and Return On Average Assets (ROAA) averaging above 35% and 4% respectively over the past 5 years.
