Absa Bank Botswana Limited, formerly Barclays Bank of Botswana, is the leading commercial bank in Botswana. The company opened its doors in 1950 as Barclays with its first branch in Lobatse. By 1975, when Barclays became an incorporated entity in Botswana, the bank had expanded its network with additional branches. Barclays Bank Botswana is part of Absa Group Limited, one of Africa's largest diversified financial services group with a presence in 12 countries across the continent.

With a current network of 34 branches and 115 ATM machines throughout the country, Absa Bank is the biggest bank and among the oldest corporate citizens in Botswana. The bank has shown dedication to several community causes over the years by partnering with organizations such as Stepping Stones International, Mothers for All, and the Kalahari Conservation Society. Absa Bank provides financial support to outstanding postgraduate students through the Barclays F. G. Mogae Scholarship Fund.
